Mouse
Works in conjunction with a "cursor" displayed on the monitor screen.
Mouse detects direction of movement and tells the CPU. CPU tries to move the cursor accordingly. Computer knows exactly where the cursor is displayed (computer may not know where the mouse is!).
Position of cursor is kept as distance in pixels from margins (left, top).
Computer knows position of icons or other objects on the screen.
Click - computers find out which object has same location as the cursor.
